Third Sunday After Pentecost 2020

Why does God enter our humanity and dine with the sinful?  The love of God has no limits when in comes to completing the number of children for the kingdom of God. The angels were tested and one-third failed the test. Those who passed the test of sacrificial obedient love gained an eternal love union with the Triune God. Those who failed and sought their own way received just what they wanted:  an egotistical hell in which every creature wants it his way. From the angels God was able to count a myriad of thrones, dominations, powers, cherubim, seraphim, angels and archangels but to complete the heavenly family man had to be added to the mix.

Hence mankind is the lost sheep or the lost drachma. The wedding banquet of the Son must be filled and so the Son enters our humanity to expose the test that will bring about a reward or a loss. What is that test?  It is the question and conquest of love to forgive. Jesus never came to condemn but to plead for mankind to recognize that fallen humanity requires an antidote to the sin which tore our hearts apart. God, as a divine artist, fashioned our hearts so perfectly that He desired to keep a portion within His own heart. That portion would be given us when we learn to forgive our brother or sister from our humbled heart.

He answered the critical pharisees with the parable of His own life. He, the shepherd, lost mankind to the deceit of the devil but He would not concede defeat instead He would render man more love through the outpouring of His Own Blood. “Without the shedding of Blood, there can be no forgiveness.”  His blood was given to each of us as a means to pay our ransom and produce the antidote to sin and the attacks of the devil. His Blood seeks out and finds the lost soul and carries that soul back to the Father’s house.

Flowing from the lost sheep we find the good woman representing the holy Church established by the Shepherd in order to find that soul created in the image of God (drachmas have the image of the ruler on them). Holy Mother Church seeks out the lost souls who have wandered into the grip of sin. Their sinful life cries out for a Savior. The Church presents us with the eternal sacraments to combat the evil one and the lure of the world. She is the protector, the guide and the reward of love itself. Her very purpose is to bring souls out of the darkness of sin and into the light of divine love.

In each parable the truth of Jesus’ search becomes quite clear. That which is lost is loved. That which is found creates great happiness in the divine home of the angels and the saints. We are not alone in our desire to be found. The Family of God, the Church triumphant, loves us and desires us to follow the path of true religion and bind ourselves to a sacrificial love here in this earthly realm and in the eternal kingdom of God.

How contradictory our friend, the Pope, is. Jesus came to seek out and restore the sinner while the new hierarchy proclaim that “Jesus is a preferred way.” (Bishop Barron to Ben Shapiro) This attitude is heretical and denies the divinity of our Lord. If we can be saved by other means then Jesus is just one of the “many” ways and consequently is not divine. The new ecumenism touts this same message. The 1st encyclical of John Paul II tells us that by the very incarnation of Jesus all flesh has been redeemed. Therefore by the incarnation there is universal salvation. Thomists tells us that salvation is offered to all and in potency all can be saved but in reality few find the way to the kingdom.

We are swimming in deep waters with heresy polluting all the recent documents out of the Vatican. Bishops have become dictators of doctrinal change. Archbishop Vigano has correctly pointed out that Vatican II created a parallel church. The accidents of the Catholic Church are present but the Substance is missing and that Substance is our Lord Jesus. It is similar to an invalid mass which looks like the real thing but lacks the action of transubstantiation. Christ is not present. The faithful are left to wander in this confused state of doctrine and must return to the Catechism of previous Popes (e.g. St. Pius X).

All power and authority comes from God and we must submit to what He has revealed through His only-begotten Son. It is only right that we obey Him over all the other claimants. There remains but one way home and that is through Jesus. Don’t be lost but take up the teaching of the Church eternal and you will find that God is there in the Truth. Take the hand of our Lady and she will teach you all that is necessary to conquer the false notions offered to the faithful for their destruction. Pray the holy rosary completely each and every day. This prayer will preserve your faith.

In the hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph,

Fr. Voigt
