3rd Sunday After Epiphany 2019

If You Will…

Where is God?  The world of the left wills His Absence and wills to destroy the very foundations of Christian Society. They choose to have a secular world re-created in the image of man which is nothing more than choosing Satan as their god. It is a world filled with leprosy of the heart. Imagine a group of teen age boys who just stood up for the right of babes to be born. They had an euphoricsense of doing something important for God. Then in a moment the world came down to crush them.

In the leprous view of the media this innocent group of boys must be burned atthe stake. What is their crime?  They want America to return to its true values:the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They didn’t know that the “soul” of society has been destroyed. With the advent of the socialist agendaall things Christian must be cast out of the public square and trampled under foot.

Not only were the media complicit in this attack but even their bishop stood injudgment against their actions. What a world those boys are entering!  The constitution is ridiculed; the Church is anemic and Satan rules the public order.Where is God?  He is being crucified in every man, woman and child who professHis Gospel of life, liberty and the pursuit of eternal life. It is we who call out to Him:  “Lord, if You will, you can heal us.”

Through the blood that our Lord would shed upon a cross comes the power to conquerthe evil that is threatening the very core of our society. We must recognize the leprosywhich is nothing more than a rotting body putrid in the social sins of our day. We mustask to be healed and in a moment the divine touch comes and Our Lord sends us to thepriests to offer the sign of our healing:

1) A life dedicated to doing the acts of love.

2) A life saturated with the presence of God Whom we adore.

No matter what the world of the news says; no matter what the bishop claims; no matterwhat the politicians preach; there is one truth that will conquer all this darkness about us.It is the truth of the centurion who sought the healing of his servant. Jesus said:  “I will come with you.”  “No,” replied the centurion, “I am a man with authority. If I say to one come here. He comes. If I say to another, go there. He goes.”  Then he uttered the words that echo throughout the world at every true mass:  “Lord, I am not worthy to have Thee under my roof, but say only the word and my servant shall be healed.”

Both the leper was healed that day and the centurion’s servant. Can we recognize the call of Mary in the Gospel of the last Sunday. She said clearly that we are to “do whateverHe tells you.”  Keep your eyes focused upon Him and call your senators; call your representativesand let them know we want an end to abortion, an end to the lying media, an end to this gender nonsense which seeks to corrupt our children. Let your voices be heard and call this number 202-224-3121. Let’s become the squeaky wheels that want some grease. That’s what we need to do physically.

In the spiritual order, do a little more penance, pray another rosary, offer the novena toOur Lady of Good Success, prepare more diligently for your next holy communion. Let us employ the protection of the Blood of Christ upon us and go out to this dying world and give them the word of life. God bless you.

In the hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph,

Fr. Voigt, S.D.B.
